How do we get a matched circuit?

To find a matched circuit, we need to vary the load of a circuit such that a maximum power of the load is obtained.

The matched circuit is given by setting R_L = R_S and X_L = -X_S where R_L is R suffix L representing the load resistance.
The maximum power of the load, P_L = V_S^2 / (4 R_S ).

This is also called conjugate match.

Why should we need a matched circuit?

A matched circuit results in less reflections, lower noise and lower distortion of signal. In addition, it provides higher power transfer, higher output power, and more efficiency.

What are the typical circuits in the application?

The circuits include small signal amplifiers, low noise amplifiers (LNA), power amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, phase detectors, frerquency multipliers, modem, switches, and filters.

What are the application areas of RF circuit?

The application areas of RF circuit include navigation systems, communication systems, and backbone systems.

What is an RF circuit?

When the operating frequency of a circuit is greating than 500 MHz, it is classified as an RF circuit.
